Rental Acquisition Program The Sandwich Housing Authority recently purchased a second single family home which will be rented to a qualified family as part of the CPC-funded Rental Acquisition Program (RAP). This project has received $235,000 from the Community Preservation Committee which will be used as down payment money to acquire 1-3 homes. The balance of the acquisition cost for each home would be funded through an SHA mortgage with a commercial bank which would be repaid through the rental revenue generated by each property. These properties will continue to be owned and operated by the Sandwich Housing Authority in perpetuity as affordable housing. The Authority continues to seek out additional single or multi-family housing units which could be converted to affordable rental units for moderate income families including Town employees and other qualified families.
