Rental Acquisition Program The Sandwich Housing Authority currently owns one single family home which is rented out to a qualified family and is actively seeking to purchase additional single or multi-family housing units which could be converted to affordable rental units for moderate income families including Town employees and other qualified families. This project has received $235,000 in Community Preservation Act funding which will be used as down payment money to acquire 1-3 homes. The balance of the acquisition cost for each home would be funded through an SHA mortgage with a commercial bank which would be repaid through the rental revenue generated by each property. These properties will continue to be owned and operated by the Sandwich Housing Authority in perpetuity.
