The Sandwich Housing Authority provides affordable housing for senior citizens, families, and people with special needs at properties located on George Fernandes Way, Hansen Village on Tom’s Way, as well as several SHA-owned single family homes and other privately-owned rental properties throughout the Town of Sandwich.
The Mission of the Sandwich Housing Authority is to:
- Provide stable, quality affordable housing for low and moderate income persons;
- Deliver these services with integrity and mutual accountability;
- Create living environments which serve as catalysts for the transformation from dependency to economic self-sufficiency;
- Continuously pursue the development of additional affordable housing units whenever financial or regulatory opportunities may exist.
The Sandwich Housing Authority is an independent governmental entity administered by a Board of Commissioners consisting of four members elected by the voters of Sandwich and a fifth member appointed by the Governor.
Regular public meetings of the Board of Commissioners are scheduled for the first Thursday of each month in the Community Room at Hansen Village, 20 Tom’s Way.
