Welcome to the SHA —
The Sandwich Housing Authority provides and maintains affordable housing for low to moderate income senior citizens, families, and people with special needs at our properties located on George Fernandes Way and Tom’s Way. The Sandwich Housing Authority also administers rental assistance through several state and federal voucher programs.
The Mission of the Sandwich Housing Authority is to:
Provide stable, quality affordable housing for low- and moderate-income persons;
Deliver these services with integrity and mutual accountability;
Create living environments which serve as catalysts for the transformation from dependency to economic self-sufficiency;
Continuously pursue the development of additional affordable housing units whenever financial or regulatory opportunities may exist.
The Sandwich Housing Authority was founded in 1960 as an independent governmental entity administered by a Board of Commissioners consisting of four members elected by the voters of Sandwich and a fifth member appointed by the Governor.
Regular public meetings of the Board of Commissioners are scheduled for the second Thursday of each month at 5:00pm in the Community Room at Hansen Village, 20 Tom’s Way, Sandwich.
